Is it a good idea to see your personal information plastered all over the Internet?

The experts all agree. The answer is NO:

• Scrub your personal identity information from that tip before sending it to some Internet blogger. Who knows who that blogger is?  He could be some uninformed octogenarian who will post your tip as-is, without redacting your personal identity information.
  
  
• And you Internet bloggers, you should redact any personal identity information from the tips that are sent to you. That tipster may be some uninformed octogenarian who will send you something without first scrubbing his personal information.
