Great job, Barney Baxter! The free press is needed at local government meetings! This may be a good fit for the new Illinois law, which became effective on January 1. (Public Act 100-1113) (55 ILCS 5/5-44025). Why do taxpayers tolerate this kind of government? "In the best interest of the village" appears to have another meaning in this municipality! As I listened to your coverage, the mayor pushes for approval and the motion fails due to lack of 2/3 of trustees voting yes! Was it the trustees or the mayor that placed this item on the agenda?
