The Culture of Obstruction

blockheads
If resting on your laurels involves neither sex or drugs, the Lake County GOP is not content to rest on their laurels. Not content with simply being the Culture of Corruption ...
What the heck is going on in Lake County?
the Lake County Republican Party is shopping around a new street name:
The Culture of Obstruction
Yesterday, after posting a fakenews story about the Jacksonville shooting on FaceBook, the Lake County GOP then killed any chance that you will get to vote for your County Assessor in November:
Gov. Bruce Rauner has issued an amendatory veto effectively killing legislation that would have let Lake County voters decide how their chief assessment officer is hired.
Rauner effectively kills bill targeting Lake County chief assessment officer
One official spokesman said: "By law the Governor can't veto the whole election. But he can scrub all of the candidates off your ballot."

That's all your LakeCountyEye has. No one to vote for here. Stay home.

Certainly I am not in the Rauner Camp, but the 2544 Veto was appropriate. Now lets hold the County Assessor Accountable through the established process, the County Board. Better yet, Springfield ought to look at the merits of eliminating township assessors. I will argue much of the issues SOME have with Paulson is his having to work overtime to correct the inaccuracies of the 18 ELECTED township assessors. The eliminating the township assessor study realized an immediate $4M dollar savings to taxpayers. Remember, township assessors hold no special powers that are not already granted to the state and the county. Redundancy at its best!

Hold the whole County Board responsible for what a different person is doing? What a load of monkey sh!t.

This veto by Rauner is proof he is against corruption unless it benefits scumbags in his own party. This veto is a win for no one but those in power in Lake County and the elite they serve.

The non-elite voters in Lake County should be holding Rauner accountable for this crap this election.

Anon 6:57. We are talking about the Lake County Board, not Congress. BAWHAHAHA....with that said, I doubt their will be a power shift from GOP to Democrat in 2018 for the County Board. The Independent County still leans right. My bet is Dems pick up one seat, two max if the misfortunes of Lawlor sway voters in his district left. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if there is no net gain.
