Lake County Circuit Clerk Keith Brin on Monday announced his candidacy for chairman of the Lake County Republican Party. Brin, who also is a Republican committeeman, said the party needs new leadership as more Democrats are winning offices in areas that used to be Republican.Keith Brin presumably will be challenging Bob Cook, the current Chair of the Lake County Republican Party. Cook is best known for backing Bob Bednar in his unsuccessful attempt to oust State Rep Ed Sullivan Jr, in the Primary last week.
